History of the Humanitarian Association “Bamirësit Struganë”

The Humanitarian Association “Bamirësit Struganë” was founded in 2020 by a group of local activists who dedicated much of their lives to helping people in need. We came together with a single goal – to continue our humanitarian work in a more organized, sustainable, and structured way, so we can stay close to anyone who needs help.

From the very beginning, everything we do is with a pure heart, complete dedication, and without any personal gain. We have built shelters for families in difficult conditions, distributed food, paid water and electricity bills for the vulnerable — but what we’re most proud of are the scholarships for students. Investing in youth and education is our greatest pride.

Our office has always been open to those in need, and every day the number of people we help increases. We don't just help those who ask — we also reach those who are too ashamed or proud to ask, but still desperately need support. We search for them, find them, and help them.

Your donations are the bread of someone’s child. And when you entrust us with them, that bread becomes sacred. Sometimes we face uncomfortable situations — when people ask for help who don’t truly need it — and in those cases, we must say NO. It’s our duty to make sure your trust reaches the right people.

Our people are in great need of support, and this is our mission: to be there for everyone in difficult times. We help victims of domestic violence, women abandoned and barely surviving — for them, we even pay the rent. We try to educate people so they know how to solve their problems through institutions too.

Beyond financial aid, we stand by citizens with moral and institutional support. Our phone rings every day with calls from offices and institutions — because we’re the first point of contact when someone has nowhere else to go.

It hasn’t been easy. But love for our homeland and the trust our people give us is what keeps us going. The gratitude of those we've helped with medicine, hospital treatments, or who we’ve pulled out of darkness — that’s what motivates us even more.

This mission will live as long as you continue to feed it with trust and respect.

What defines our organization is transparency. We are an open association with an office, staff, a director, and a managing board. All decisions are made carefully and based on real needs — and our only criterion for support is need, nothing else.
